Something about me :)
I am Isabella an Italian-Guatemalan multidisciplinary designer currently located in Italy.
I am very proud of my roots and my culture because, from an early age, it has helped me develop a mindset of openness and acceptance of world around me.
I am a curious and creative person who tries to put myself out there despite my introverted nature (as a good INFP🤘).
I believe that designers have the skills to be able to improve society, what I have understood in my experience so far is that every single project allows us to bring a positive impact, no matter how small.
How it started
For as long as I can remember I have always dreamed of being an inventor; creating and fixing things were my favorite hobbies, which made me feel excited and calm at the same time. Growing up I thought my path was leading me toward engineering, but I realized that what I really wanted was to find creative solutions to people's problems. By chance, I discovered the design world, and through product design first, and then graphic design, I got hooked and continued to study in order to learn how I could make useful and practical products.
However, during my university career, I felt the need to broaden the focus of my studies on the service design field and in general on designing non-tangible things, services, and approaches that can be implemented in today's world.
How it is going
I got my Master's degree in Service and Product Design at Sapienza University in 2022.
Currently, I am working as a Technical Manager in the Zagarolo FabLab, where I support and collaborate with the lab users in prototyping their ideas into tangible objects, all while educating the users on rapid manufacturing technologies.
Occasionally I work on projects with the company Chirale and others.
I have just closed a graphic design collaboration with the Architecture Department of Sapienza University for the "Teatro dell'Opera di Roma" Foundation.
